Things to Do


Often considered North Carolina’s getaway destination, there is always something going on in this idyllic town. Hillsborough hosts many events and festivals throughout the year, including the Last Friday Art Walk, held on the last Friday of every month from March to November. The Last Friday Art Walk celebrates local art by selling and promoting their work. They also host many activities and live shows, making it one of the area’s most celebrated events. 

During the summer and fall, check out Hillsborough Farmers Market. It is a gathering place for local farmers to sell their produce and goods. It’s a lively, pet-friendly venue where you can shop for the best locally-sourced produce. Another popular local event is the Hillsborough Garden Tour, held bi-annually on odd-numbered years. During the years they host this special event, you can experience the best of Hillsborough’s rich history and lush greenery. 

If you love the rugged outdoors, Hillsborough is just a short distance from Eno River State Park. Some popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing. It’s also one of the area’s most popular fishing destinations. Set on over 2,700 acres of public land, the Eno River State Park is one of the area’s most popular outdoor attractions.
